Canoa is my fingering weight Cotton/bamboo yarn base. Full of drape from the rayon derived bamboo but with the yarn mainly being sturdy soft cotton, your garments and projects will have body and structure. This base is constructed by twisting a ply of bamboo and ply of cotton 5 times, resulting in a round soft yarn that has luster from the rayon and matte from the cotton.
Named after the Taino word for canoe. A little homage to my great-great-grandmother that spun cotton wicks in the Dominican Republic and to one of the original peoples of the Caribbean.
I drew inspiration from some of my favorite Celia Cruz songs to dyed this sleek warm-weather yarn. I've created a Spotify playlist for these songs (playlist link).
